Eri Shimatsuka / Textile Designer

To pursue a career as a textile designer, Eri Shimatsuka moved back to Finland in 2007 where she had spent unforgettable days with its beautiful nature and people through a homestay program at the age of 13. While having majored in textile art and design at University of Art and Design Helsinki (currently known as Aalto University) since 2008, Shimatsuka started working at Art Work Studio of Marimekko as a designer in 2010. Today she is based in Helsinki as a freelance designer with a range of commissions in textiles.
